feeling a little sentimental

Well since the year is coming to a close. I am feeling just a tad misty eyed and sentimental. As I reflect back over our year I think of all the blessings that we have and all the things that have happened over the year.
In January we started out our first new year in our house. Which at the time I thought was perfect for us. Celebrated my birthday. Feburary, Danielle my dil celebrated her birthday . March rolled around and we got caught up in starting to prepare the ground for our garden and some fruit trees. We also lost our beloved Max he was the best dog but old age caught up to him (as it will in al of us I guess) Easter was a joy we went to the Zoo and had a fun easter egg hunt . Then April which is a bit busy at first as Carissa turned 5 and the following day Tim turned 25. In this month we planted our pear tree and started our gardin inside. I also found out a good friend of mine was moving to North Carolina and I knew I would miss her alot. Come May it was Larissas birthday she turned 4. I had my special Mothers day time alone and the children and my dh bought me all kinds of plants for the front yard. We also planted our first Peach tree. June My oldest dd graduated .I was so proud of her, she will be embarking on college to become a vet in September. My oldest son Tommy turned 26 and I was not able to go back to New York again so I missed another birthday. It has been so long since I have got to see him :( . Now comes July and Mikey turns 17 . Garden is in full bloom and our apple tree is producing more apples than I ever dreamed of. August was get ready for school month. It was a very hot month so we spent most of it in the pool. September rolls around Tarissa Jean my baby turns 2 . School is in full swing Mike is taking some classes at Fort again. He is a 11th grader. Marissa is in 1st grade ,Carissa is in k , and Larissa is in prek. Lisa has started her college classes at Clark. Wow am I getting old. October dh has his birthday and Halloween and all kinds of fun fall things. November is time for Thanksgiving and finally December Lisa turns 20 on the first and my darling granddaughter Katlin turns 4 and I still haven't been able to get to NY and see her. {{sigh}} Michael is also preparing to take his confirmation and Christmas is upon us.
We managed in our lives this year to squeeze in some day trips to the ocean, grist mill, parks, long drives, and of course the zoo. We have added a new bunny to our family, and 3 turtles. Lisa and I and the girls have had a great summer on our friday outings and of course saturday farmers market days.
As the year end we do wonder what the new year holds for us and if my husband will be laid off as work has been very slow at the plant. We do have our landscaping business to help some though and God has never given us more than we can handle. Here is hoping you all have a Blessed New Year.

november

Well, its been awhile since I been here so lets play catch up. Of course the kids went trick or treating and we had a party afterwards. Everyone had lots of fun. I have finished all my Christmas shopping back awhile ago and its all wrapped. We have wandered into November now and I have half my cards (100) addressed and ready to be mailed and only have 100 more to go which I plan on doing this weekend. I also went and bought all the ingredients for my cookies and will also start them this weekend. Last weekend 11-8-2008 we march in the veterans day parade with the girls american heritage girl troop. It rained heavy on us but we had fun anyways. Carissa passed out Thank you cards along the way to the veterans and she met a ww2 veteran. Marissa marched along with Lisa and waved her flag. Of course at the end was Daddy waiting for us and mikey and the Larissa and Tarissa. then we watched the rest of the parade.
Mikey and Lisa have started their confirmation classes and should take their confirmation around Febuary.
The girls are selling Christmas trees and it looks like I am going to have to buy both trees as I cant seem to find anyone who either uses a real tree or doesnt go to a tree farm. oh well we will end up with 3 trees this year I guess. As we always make a day of going to the tree farm and cutting our own down.
We have been getting the start of our rainy season. Which always make for creative days . we have been getting on our rain gear and going for walks in it when it isnt raining to hard. Of course their is the girls favorite pass time Splashing in puddles. Our yard was really squishy today and I slid in it and that made the kids day laughing I just look at it like taking a mudd bath.
We also will be in the house for a bit with Tarissa Jean as she has come down with the chicken pox. oh boy I have never had them but have gone thru the 4 older ones having them. Doesn't seem to be bothering her too much she seems to be full of energy but itchy so lots of calomine lotion and we will get thru this ,plus she doesn't have many only a couple dozen. Doc said to give her oatmeal bath as needed.
Well, better sign off now still need to cook dh supper so its fresh and hot after work.

darling hubbys birthday

Today , my darling hubby turns 45. I sit back and ask myself where did the time go. We are getting older and so our the children. Well, anyways we spent the morning shopping for daddy and everyone picked out their gifts for Daddy. We came home and wrapped them and made their cards. He was so surprised as he knew we were having a party on Sunday for him and thought that was when they would give him gifts. So I know they made his day. He will get my gifts on Sunday when the rest of the family comes over.
Today I thought I would talk a little about dh since it is his day. He owns his own business and works a second job at night. He loves to spend time in the yard doind landscaping around our home and he is a wiz at furniture building. His winter time project this year is to make the girls a puppet theater for christmas. He also loves sports which he tries to catch a couple games or the race on Sunday afternoon if at all possible and we arent doing a family thing.
well ciao for now.
