The ending of 2010

As this year comes to an end I think of all that has happened in 2010. As we move ahead to a new year I know as our children grow many more changes lay ahead of us. Tommy and Danielle had a new baby. Lisa is in her last year of college here before moving on. Mikey started college. Marissa took her first Communion. Carissa is learning to play the guitar. Larissa has come a long way in her speech class and Tarissa Jean is no longer our little baby she is now a preschooler.
We thank God for all his Blessings this year. I also look forward to what the New Year has to offer.
Ciao

September

As September rolls around. School continues and we find field trips to take more often. The not back to school days at Oaks park is Tomorrow the 10th which the girls look forward too each year. Tarissa jean will be 4 on Saturday. I am still doing my canning and some days it seems like there is no end to it.
The other day I made fresh homemade apple pies. Yummy the kids all say I just love the smell in the house. especially since it was raining so the smell makes up for a gloomy day :)
A.H.G. starts on Monday with a ice cream social. Should be fun for the girls.

canning season

The summer brings lots of things extra to do and one of them is to can fruits and veggies for the winter.Ya all remember the story of the ant and grasshopper well that is what my summer is like but I don't mind. oh by the way I am the ant lol. We have started the canning season with my jams and are moving slowly along the process to veggies and more fruits. I am working on Apples right now and beans. zucchini is coming in like crazy and the cabbage is getting really big. I am hoping that are tomatoes hold off from ripening for a bit till I get back from AHG camp with the girls. We'll see. here's hoping for a bountiful harvest.:)

an old fishing hole.

Do you remember the old fishing hole that you would frequant as a child. I do but it was not really to fish but more for me to water my horse after a good ride or swim for a bit. But I always showed respect to others that were there. Yesterday after mass we decided to take the girls fishing. So we ate lunch, grab some drinks and snacks and off we headed for Horseshoe lake park. an old fishing hole it was not. We had been told it was quiet there but atlas it was not. The girls cast there lines in and set to making a sand castle while they waited. Down a bit from us was a woman sun bathing in her underwear I almost died when I saw it. Modesty in this day and time must be gone. We had set our selves up way away from the swimming area where it said for fishing but that didnt matter to those who decided to swim there anyways they proceeded to jump and splash right next to the lines in the water ( in fairness a few who came down to swim saw the lines and decided not to swim right there.) So I asked myself what ever happened to respect for other people. We try to teach our to children to respect other people. I wish everyone did the same. Despite everything, we did enjoy our time together and even managed to catch a few fish.

A new Blessing

I just wanted to say we have welcomed a new blessing into our lives. A granddaughter Mckenna Mae born July 10,2010. I am now a Grandma to 2 granddaughters and a grandson. They live in New York. So I have never been able to meet them. I do get to send them things and chat with them. But I would just about give anything to see them. I know I will someday.:)
Families are like quilts.Lives pieced together stitched with smiles and tears sewn with memories, bound by love,to last throughout the years. I have this on a plaque on my wall and as our family has grown I find it to be so true.

first time at the movies

Today, I had decided to take the girls to the movie theater for the first time. Regal was having the free showing of Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. We got there early and find our seats. I have to say I was expecting to leave the movie early figuring Tarissa wouldn't sit quietly. Only to my surprise the were so quiet and love watching the movie. I didn't hear a peep. I was so proud of them. So I guess now they will want to go more often which is fine.

Camping

We went camping this past weekend. We had lots of fun. But of course it was nice to get home. Camping hasn't really changed since I was a kid and I think it is still Americas favorite pasttime. It was so quiet and pleasent just to be outside and listen to nature. We seen so much wildlife even a eagle that snatched a fish out of a lake. The kids had an awesome time and it gave them a chance to see some animals that they normally wouldn't see.
We all went fishing and Marissa caught 5 trouts to bad no one else did. LOL.She seems to really like to fish.
We seem some of Americas most beautiful wonders like several falls which after hiking to them were nice to to sit near and feel the mist of the falls against our faces.

so much to do so little time

Well once again I find that it has been a little over a year since my last post. Alot has happened so lets see if i can do a better job at posting this year.
Michael is finishing up his last of his papers and will graduate June 17. He is already registered at College for the fall. They grow so fast.
Marissa this past weekend took her First Communion. She looked so beautiful. We couldn't be prouder.
Lisa has only 1 year left before she gets her degree and then will move on to Pullman to go to the university to finish up her schooling. to be a Vet.
Tuesday, Larissa turned 6 and is speaking more clearly every week. Speech is going very well for her.
Carissa, what can I say is very outgoing and outspoken. reminds me of me when I was little. loves all kinds of activities and is trying her hand at learning the guitar.
Tarissa Jean will be 4 in September and will be going to her first camp in July. Heaven help her camp teachers. lol.
Timmy has been back home living for a bit till the new Adult Family home is ready for him. I sometimes wonder if there will ever be a AFH that will be ready for him.
Tommy and Danielle are expecting a little blessing in July. I made them a diaper cake and need to package everything up and get it mailed out.
Well that's it for now.
